Vintage Presto Model 3000 Hunter Switchblade Brain Wormgroove scales 1940s
Here is a nice honest PRESTO Hunter switchblade from 1940s or early 50s. It was made by the George Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT and designated the model 3000. We can tell by the patent date stamped on the tang that it was made after 1940. It measures 5" closed and 8 3/8" open with steel liners and bolsters. The blade is approx 92% full and is about 3/8" short, but nice blade overall. The knife functions well with the blade tip well inside the blade well when closed, good snap and average lockup for these 70 year old switchblades that have seen use over the years. Approx 1/4" up and down at the tip and rattles if shaken when open. Nice working example of a vintage American switchblade!
