What a rare find.  It isn't often that you come across such a fine example of great German craftsmenship.  Made in Germany in 1969 or 1970 by the Bertram Cutlery Company for A.G. Russell.  This knife is made w/ old world craftsmanship.  Notice the beautiful stag on this.  It's well matched front and back.  What is the tale tale of it's age is the way the grain of the stag runs right up to the bolster.  This takes more time to make a knife this way, it requires the craftsman to remove excess stag from the backside of the slab to make it thinner and thinner to fit w/ out having to haft away the stag grain on top.  Many today haft away all kinds of bark to make these fit to the bolster, leaving white under stag exposed on the outside of the knife.  This knife has the old world stag on it, you don't find may of these around.  The stag is chip and crack free.  The blades have not been used or sharpened.  The liners look to be nickel silver and pins might be also or they could be steel.  The pins sit proud out of the stag, made that way.

The only flaw is the blade rub on the main blade, please look at the photos.  The tang on the secondary blade is what caused one line of scratch and the tip of the secondary blade tip caused the other one.  When I first got this knife the snap was weak but the pivot felt dry.  So I oiled the joints and worked it open and closed a few times and the snap is just fine.  Not a thundering loud but nice for a 50 year old knife.  Measures 3 3/4" closed OAL.  Excellent to near mint condition.  No box.  Free shipping w/ in the USA.

This would make a very important and rare find for your collection, truely rare.
