ADDITIONAL INFO:     Yesterday I stopped in my local gun shop to pick up some Eezox that I use to treat knives prone to rusting, and to see if he had any used knives. I got a couple knives for trading and POS roundtables stock, but the best thing I found were two USA made (in Portland Oregon) Gerber Gator Mate knives. He had these knives in inventory since 2012; the $41.95 price tag was the suggested retail price in 2012. He gave me a good enough deal that I can sell them for less then he sold them in 2012. They are brand-new, still in the boxes. I think I got most of the dust off the boxes, but you might see a little bit even yet. I had never used a Gerber with the “gator grip” though I wish I had. They really give you a good grip on and I think they would be an excellent for cleaning a mess of trout. You would have a good secure grip when your knife even when covered with water, fish slime or blood. This handle material really is great! Try it, I think you’ll be impressed! Get it now for less than the eight-year-old retail price! Also comes with factory nylon sheath!
