ADDITIONAL INFO:     The upward pointing arrow behind the model number in the tang stamp indicates this knife was made in 2008. In addition the end of the box has a date stamped on it; 12/15/2008, presumably it is the date of manufacture. The knife also comes with a leather sheath so you can wear this knife on your belt or you can even use the spring loaded clip to carry the knife inside your boot. I believe 2008 was the first time Buck had offered the classic 301 Stockman pattern in the in the handle material other than the black sawcut Delrin. Nowadays they offer it with Rosewood Dymondwood handles but these first they offered had grayish brown colored handles with dark blue colored shields. I do not believe the sheaths are offered with the current issue of the 301 with Rosewood Dymondwood handles. This is a nice piece of Buck cutlery history dating back 12 years to 2008, just six years after Buck moved their factory from California to their new location in Post Falls Idaho.
