Folk's back in 1904, Webster Marble designed and put his Special Hunting knife pattern into production...it was one of the few full exposed tang knives in the Marble lineup, most were full hidden tang designs, sadly, this pattern Marble knife only was made from 1904 - 1914...it was the victim of the Marble's Woodcraft that came out and was so well recieved around the world, the Special was dropped from the Marble's line of knives,,,also, a very similar knife blade pattern was seen in the 1860's in old San Francisco, bulit for wealthy Northern California hunters, maybe thats where W.L. Marble got his idea for his own Special ??? During Mike Stewart's tenure at Marble's, the Special was re-created both in full size as this knife, and the Mini-Special Hunter...I once saw bout 5 yrs ago at a very extensive private Marble's collection auction I attended, a Special go for I believe $3850.00 !!! This Special 2 is a very heavily constructed & hefty knife, not to mention a remarkable one !!!

This is a presentation grade knife, with Gold Inlay in the etch and mirror finished blade...the blade etch is Gold Inlay and reads: 1 of 300...also has a Gold Star inlay in the middle of the Marble Plus Knife Club banner over 2000

Knife is 9 5/8" OAL

Blade is 5 1/8" in length and made of 52/100 high carbon ball bearing steel...this blade steel took several top prizes in the ABS sponsored World Cutting Championships !!!

Knife is stamped : Marble's Gladstone Mi. U.S.A.,,,made in Gladstone Michigan, U.S.A.

Handle is just gorgeous Genuine Bone slabs, pinned with 3 large pins on both sides...deep lines and super jigging on the bone slabs on both sides of this knife...blade is very heavy and .215 thousands thick !!! Ya gotta love the old Marble trademark "Birds Beak" butt of the knife !!!

Knife is New in box condition

Whole package comes to ya in the Marble's Bobcat box...this knife was not issued with a sheath...sure would be a dandy knife to have a custom sheath made for this great old pattern Marble's knife !!!
