A couple scratches on the large blade that I can only see if I hold it in the light just right.

MADE IN:   Germany

ADDITIONAL INFO:    The large knife has a fullered clip point blade and the small knife appears to be flat ground. In the 1980s when I managed a cutlery store we sold some of the Edge Mark knives. The importer and distributor for Edge Mark knives was Gutmann Cutlery. As a matter of fact I believe Gutmann owned the Edge Mark brand name and had the knives made for them in Germany. I believe the Edge Mark Explorer series were made mainly in Japan with some being made in Germany, if my memory is correct, (often it is not). Gutmann was in the German marketplace; they were the US distributor for Puma knives from 1964 until fairly recently. I believe the license to import Puma knives is now held by Puma® Knife Company USA since 2009. I don’t know which German company made the Edge Mark knives. Gutmann also imported a lot of Balisong butterfly knives from the Philippines.

I don’t know if Gutmann is still in business today or not, but they certainly did bring a lot of high and mid-quality knives into the US.
