Here we have a Vintage Russian bolster release. These started coming into the US about 10 years ago and the story was that they were assembled from vintage parts found in Russia. Whatever the story they are FUN knives! It measures 5 1/4" closed and 9 1/4" open with an aluminum frame and scales! Elaborate designs on the bolsters and a thin plastic strip on each side to give the knife some color.. in this case black. The strip on the backside of this knife has some scratches in it that I think could be sanded out if they bother you. The blade is sharp and seems to be made of very good steel.
