Camillus Pearl Whittler with file worked back
Camillus Pearl Whittler with file worked back: 3 1/8” closed, premium pearl handles no chips or cracks, brass milled liners, NS tip bolsters, near mint. No box.
It is believed that the file work on this knife was done by Samuel Nelson who emigrated from Sheffield, England in 1893 as a fully trained cutler at the age of 22. He worked first in Southington, Connecticut before moving to Titusville, Pennsylvania to join the Schatt & Morgan Cutlery Co. in 1906. In 1914 he moved to Camillus Cutlery and remained there until he retired in 1946 and returned to Titusville. His specialty was pearl handles pocket knives. Even in retirement he continued his skills with pearl handled cutlery with fancy file-worked springs and blades for Queen Cutlery.
