Folk's, the Trailmaker has 3 distinctions within the Marble's Corp.

(1) It is the biggest knife Marble's ever made at 15" OAL in their storied history

(2) It is the heaviest at 1 LB

(3) And it was the most expensive knife ever offered in their line

Webster Marble being an inventor supreme, was allways trying to come up with the perfect outdoor tool. The same way he invented a small axe...the safety axe...that could do the work of a large knife...he tried too make a large knife that would do the work of an axe...his answer was the Trailmaker !!! He was quoted as saying: there is no one cutting tool that will serve as many purposes as the Trail Maker...He came up with the name TrailMaker from a then common practice of marking trails by cutting bark off the side of trees and following the marked trees out !!!

This knife was made by "Benchmade" back in 1992 when Jim Parker had some sort of rights to the Marble's name and trademark...I do not know the whole story on this, but know he had knives made in the USA and Japan that bore the Marble's name.

Knife is 15" OAL with a 10" blade

Knife is stamped: Marble's U.S.A. on the front...and MSA -1992 on off side

Blade is a massive .285 thousands thick, .035 thicker than 1/4" !!!

Handle is genuine Stag...4 pin stag construction with thick stag slabs...Stag is just gorgeous, creamy color with deep lines and great character on both sides which are pictured...topped off with stag pommel on the end and note all the red & brass spacers, a beautiful throwback to years past

Comes in its Original Marble's stamped leather sheath

Condition: I do not belive it has ever been used or sharpened...a few tiny black carbon specks on it with a few lite marks from going in the sheath...Fine, Near Mint condition, as is the sheath with a few scuffs on it
