MARBLE'S STAG - ROSEWOOD - IDEAL - DOUBLE HILT - FULL GUARD - GLADSTONE, MICH. USA - # 25 OF 25 !!!

Folk's, if ya never have had one of these big Marble's 8" Ideal's in your hand, you just would not believe what a heavy massive piece of cutlery they are !!! This knife is also very special as it is #25 of 25 that were made !!! I can trace this Rosewood with Stag pommel pattern back to 1903 in my Marble's guides. I also love the way Marble's re-created the "birds beak" stag pommel on this knife, just the way they made em allmost 100 yrs ago !!!

Marble's Ideal History : Marble's put its 1st Ideal into production in 1899. The 1st model Ideal's in excellent condition are worth over $10.000 !!! After a trade show in 1901 in New York at Madison Square Garden, Webster Marble's Ideal hunting knife took America by storm !!! Marble said his knife design was a cross between a sticking & skinning knife. He said there was about as much difference between one of Marble's Ideal hunting knives and any other knife... as there is between a porcupine & a grizzly bear !!! By the end of their 3rd decade in production (1930) the Marble's Corp. had become the world's most famous manufacturer of Outing Equipment. From Pole to Pole and around the globe, the Marble's Ideal was the standard by which all other hunting knives were measured !!!

This is the Marble's Ideal with Stag / Rosewood handle

Knife is 12 3/4" OAL with an 8" blade

Blade is stamped : Marble's over USA

Blade has # 25 of 25 (Ingraved) in the blood groove and colored in black. Knife is 1 of 25

Marble's 1st made this pattern configuration in 1903 !!!

Stats on this Marble's Ideal :

(1) Blade is .265 thick, .015 thicker than 1/4" and is 8" in length. Blade has the massive blood-groove in it. The 8" Ideal was discontinued by Marble's in 1958

(2) This Ideal is a (Full) guard, double hilt Ideal

(3) Handle is gorgeous Rosewood. Has beautiful grains in the wood. Stag pommel is very knarly all the way around and cut like the old "birds beak" pommels that were popular back in the early 1900's

(4) Knife weighs in at 16 oz's, 1lb

(5) Condition: knife is "Near Mint", never carried, sharpened, used, etc. It is new in the box.

This whole Marble's Ideal package comes to you new in the original box with blade protector. It also comes with its original Marble's deep oil tanned leather sheath. The sheath is stamped with the Marbles logo and has the internal cut guard protector

This is just one hunk of a knife folk's. It is just awesome to hold in your hand for both size & weight. I truly feel honored to have owned this knife, and be able to offer it for sale for someone else to cherish him/her self !!!

Please supersize the pics on the next page for if nothing else, to have a close-up look at this Americn Institution !!! Thanks !!!
