Up for your consideration is my unique EDC  Casafont Solsana Navaja made in Spain. Amazing craftmanship. This thing snaps and locks up smooth and tight as new. Some old finger prints patina on the blade but no rust or damage to speak of. The locking mechanism locks up tight, releases smooth and the knife stays closed when not in use. Absolutely no wobble. The handles are ram horn, translucent and beautiful. I guess this knife is around the mid 1900's but my research doesn't turn up much in English lol. I did read that there are several Casafont Solsona Navaja displayed at the local museum in Spain. What I do know is this knife works.. hard! It came sharp and i started cutting cardboard i cut for an hour with no noticeable dulling. I sharpened the knife to a razors edge and went back at the cardboard and it just wont dull. I whittled some with it and have been carrying, using and caring for it but it simply wont dull on  me. Not that that's a bad thing of course, some of the finest sword steels came from this location and the surrounding areas. I know these knives are highy collected  from researching on the Spanish forums, but even translated, I can't get much info. I have determined with 99% confidence that this knife was made post 1945 and it appears to my slightly trained eye to be about that age. A little older maybe 1950's or 60's. This is quality craftsmanship and Casafont Solsona closed their doors long ago, so what is out there is all. This is a very nice early example. I have contacted the museum in Spain and am writing a few people in Spain on Instagram that are helping me out of the kindness of their hearts. I even have a question here... I wouldn't doubt there is a specialist in these here. Navaja just means folding knife basically!

***UPDATE

I have found some new information. The Casafont Solsana knives were produced until around 2002, when the maker Josep Casafont Planes, considered the premier knife maker of the 19th century in the area, became too old to continue. He passed away in 2011 of old age at 91 very successful and happy years. Another one of these knives will NEVER be made and what is out there is being locked away in private collections. I read that all the knives are generally ram horn, but was told this could also be cow horn, it is translucent honey yellow and clear as crystal. These knives are treasured in Spain and seem a treasure to find, and I can understand why. I have since bought 3 more antique Navaja from Spain and a modern day navaja... while i love each one, none compare to this old Casafont...

This is a great antique EDC  or would make a great addition to a collection . Ready to go to work or get put up either way. I am just charging what it will cost to get it out of my pocket. It is well taken care of in my hands I assure you. I have since become so attached to this knife I have to raise the price to something that makes me feel comfortable parting with it...Feel free to make me an offer. Shipping is first class used And is $3.50 in the U.S.international will have to be dealt with later thanks for looking, I have my 50 #knife limit to list ASAP so keep me in mind. Plenty of Case xx, kabar, boker, camillus,  robeson etc to list so don't miss out! I already have one happy customer from this site... come be my second! Thanks for lookin!
