MECHANISM:  Patented lever mechanism that opens the knife with a nice snap. It also has a standard lockback mechanism to keep the knife locked open. It also has “Soque Lev-R-Lok” stamped on the pivot pin washers on either side of the pivot pin. The knife also as a metal line lanyard tube.

ADDITIONAL INFO:      The knife was designed by Bill Taylor. They were produced originally sometime in the 1980s. Soque River Knives was the original brand, and only later did Camillus acquire the rights to the knife design. According to an article by BK Brooks in the Oregon Knife Collectors Associations Knewsletter, William Taylor researched knife patents and use different elements of design when he came up with the Lev-R-Lok. The root of the design goes back to a patent in 1881!

 

 

 

This unique design allows easy one hand opening of the knife. It’s a very interesting part of the evolution of one-handed opening knives. A must for the collector of cutlery innovations. It comes in the original box from Soque River Knives of Clarksville Georgia and it has instructions and a registration card in the box with the knife. There is minor staining on the box exterior but the interior of the box and the contents appeared to be untouched.
