ADDITIONAL INFO:      Either this knife was never tang stamped or it was a light stamp that has since worn off, but I am convinced this knife was made by Camillus. The blade shape is precisely the shape of the Camco #771. I have an unused Camco #771 blade that I compared this master blade to. The Turkish clip blades that Camillus made have a very distinct profile to them and this blade has that profile. This knife may have been made before Camco as the Camco brand was not introduced until 1948. Instead of having the typical Camillus prong attachments for the handles the handles are pinned on however, the shield appears to be the typical Camillus federal shield with prongs embedded in the handle material. I don’t know any other company that used that shield with the same method of attachment. While I can’t prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that this knife was made in the Camillus factory, I am 99.99% sure that it was made there. This is one of those little ministries that makes collecting so much fun! You can keep this knife in your collection and puzzle over it like I have, or you can put it in your pocket and enjoy a nice EDC.
