CONDITION:   Excellent

DAMAGE:   Some spotting and scratches on blade and bolsters. A scrape, perhaps a file mark on the mark side bolster between the T and the handle. This may have happened at the factory.

BLADE WEAR:   Blade appears to be nearly full.

SNAP:   CAUTION – Snaps like a bear trap, including the half stop!

ADDITIONAL INFO:      The A. W. Wadsworth & Son brand was a brand imported by A. Kastor & Bros, circa 1905 to 1936. Adolph Kastor, a 20-year-old immigrant from Germany formed A. Kastor & Company in 1876 to import quality cutlery items from Germany and England. The name was later changed to A. Kastor & Bros. As a result of the 1897 Dingley Tariff the prices of imported cutlery items went up so Mr. Kastor purchased a small cutlery company in Camillus New York, which became Camillus Cutlery Company. As tariffs wax and wane A. Kastor and brothers imported a lot of knives, probably most of them from Germany up until shortly before World War II when the Nazi government began nationalizing industries.

This knife is surprisingly solid for a knife this age. Great for the Barlow collector!
