ADDITIONAL INFO:  The Navy General Utility Knife was made by a variety of companies during World War II including; Utica, Pal, Imperial, and probably Kingston, (a joint operation between Imperial and Ulster knife companies – see Pocket Knives of the United States Military by Michael Silvey; page 65 & 66). It amazes me that these knives with this beautiful Rogers bone word general issue item. Today I think they are among some of the most beautiful knife handles ever made!

This knife is not perfect, there is a pin crack at the tail pin on the mark side, I have stabilized it with Zap-A-Gap. The master blade is down about 15% and probably the same for the pen blade. The pen blade has a very stiff half stop but as I have worked with it and worked in the Quick Release Oil the walk and talk and the snap has improved dramatically. Thus snap on the main blade is good and the pen blade is even stiffer especially from half stop to full one but it does have good snap. There are lots of dings, scratches and wear marks on this knife but that’s to be expected for a 70-year-old working knife! I did not sharpen this knife yet, but if you would like it sharpened, included a note with the invoice when you purchase it and I will sharpen it at no charge before I ship it. This is a great piece of cutlery history and an outstanding EDC if you so desire!
