Vintage L.L. Bean camping hatchet featuring the classic blue painted head marked "L.L. Bean, Inc., Freeport, Maine" and the original leather sheath.   This compact hatchet measures approximately 10 3/4 inches overall with a cutting edge measuring about 2 3/4 inches. It has a solid wood handle that appears to be original and feels great in the hand.   The hatchet is in very nice vintage condition. The head retains much of its original blue finish, and the cutting edge is clean with no major chips or damage. The handle shows light wear consistent with age and use but is solid with no cracks or repairs.
