Up for sale is a vintage Buck 119 Special fixed blade bowie knife, complete with its original black leather wrap-around flap belt sheath. Proudly manufactured in El Cajon, California during the highly collectible 1972 to 1985 era, this is the definitive classic American outdoor knife.

​This knife has seen plenty of real-world field use and carries honest wear, making it a perfect candidate for a restoration project or a dependable, no-worries user knife.

​Condition Report:

​The Blade: The high-carbon stainless steel blade shows heavy, uniform scratching, scuffing, and sharpening marks on both faces from a long life of field work. Please note there is a noticeable chip/nick out of the cutting edge along the upward belly curve near the tip (clearly highlighted in the close-up macro photos). The very tip of the blade shows a tiny bit of rounding but remains sharp. Guard is solid with no wobble.

​The Handle: The classic black phenolic handle is structurally sound and tight. However, there is a distinct chip/gouge missing from the side of the black handle scale (pictured). The aluminum guard and pommel show typical scratches and field dings appropriate for a knife of this age.

​The Sheath: Includes the original vintage Buck black leather wrap-around belt sheath stamped 119 on the back loop. The leather is heavily broken-in with surface cracking, finish scuffing, and wear around the edges, but the factory stitching remains completely intact and the original logo snap closure holds nice and tight.
