Cattaraugus Knife Pencil Near Mint Mottled Gold/Black Celluloid 1920s Working Pencil Blade & File
These mechanical pencils date to the 1920's, the ball end clip is a give away. The material is celluloid, popular as well for fountain pens..This one is monogramed with 'G. Webster'. The patent number on the file has nothing to do with the pencil, most likely put there to make others think before copying it. Never used, the pencil maker bought blades from Cattaraugus and fitted them to the pencil. No extra lead, no eraser. Very well made with an aluminum housing that unscrews. Nice 100 year old item.
