Vintage 1930s Finnish Horsehead Puukko Knife by Iisakki Järvenpää Kauhava #8748
DESCRIPTION
A vintage large-sized Finnish puukko knife 'Horsehead' manufactured by the Iisakki Järvenpää workshop in Kauhava, Finland, approximately in the 1930s. The red galalite handle is engraved with the Finnish coat of arms and it is fitted with decorated brass mounts, the upper one cast in shape of a horsehead. The fullered carbon steel blade is signed by the manufacturer. The brass-mounted back-stitched leather has original been fitted with a leather belt strap.
CONDITION
The knife is in good vintage condition with some signs of age and wear. The galalite handle shows shade variation due to exposure to sunlight and the lower handle mount has a small crack. The leather belt strap is broken. The knife and the sheath fit well together.
