~ Old Stag Sharpening Steel ~

Nothing high tech about this.

Though used, this is still a beautiful vintage piece of exceptional quality and just as useful and effective as the day it was forged.

It's nicely sized, and will fit in any home knife-block or storage rack. The solid stag handle is approximately four inches long, overall it is approximately 13 inches. It is quite capable of sharpening the largest or smallest knives in your kitchen or butchery.

Also nice is the fact that it comes with a smooth rod for honing and brightening your finest blades to a higher degree of razor sharpness than most ridged rods can produce.

Known in the meatcutting trade as a slick, steels like this are best for users who want to hone their knives with greater frequency, since they take less steel away from the edge.

Pommel is nickel silver and the collar appears to be nickel silver also. No rust, pits or damage to the steel, just a few age spots/stains. Stag is solid and it is not cracked or chipped, feels just right in my hand. I am going to let you polish up collar and the pommel.
