• Henry Sears & Son was a well-regarded American cutlery brand, and the model “1665” is a classic jack or cattle knife pattern likely produced sometime in the mid-20th century, possibly 1940s–1960s. While Sears did not always manufacture its own knives, they contracted with respected American firms like Camillus and Schrade, especially during that era.

   

  The “1665” model number itself was used on several variations of traditional jack knives — typically with a spear main blade and one or two secondary blades (often a pen, punch, or screwdriver). These knives were popular with farmers, electricians, tradesmen, and everyday working folks.

   

  Key features like the brass liners, nickel silver bolsters, and Delrin or early plastic handles point to post-war American production, when synthetic materials were increasingly used in place of bone or horn. • Note: The smaller pen blade sits slightly lower than the liner, making it harder to catch with a fingernail. It still opens and functions properly.

No cracks in the handle scales. Some wear and sharpening as expected for its age, but overall a solid, functional vintage pocket knife with a lot of life left.
