Folk's, the Ideal Hunting knife was Webster Marble's 1st attempt at knife making, and as it turned out, his most successful. Introduced to the world in 1899, W L Marble had this to say about his design : This knife is the Ideal cross between a sticking and skinning knife.... hand made, hand tested. There is about as much difference between our Ideal Hunting knives and any other knife... as there is between a porcupine & a grizzly bear !!!

This is the Marble's Ideal

This is Marble's 1st knife pattern. Prototyped in 1899 in the 1st versions, and by 1901, this Marble's Ideal pattern took America by storm !!! It was in the cockpit on the 1st trans-atlantic flight, carried by explorers worldwide on expeditions to every corner of the world !!! By the end of its 3rd decade of production, (1930) from Pole To Pole, around the globe, the Marble's Ideal was the hunting knife that by which all others were measured !!!

Knife was made in Gladstone, Michigan, U.S.A. at the old Marble's factory, just one of many great ideas hatched up by Mike Stewart and the Lauermans too make an Ideal the way they were made over 100 yrs ago !!! Note: if this knife was regular stamped with the stamp that is etch stamped into the blade, it would double in price !!!

This is a half Guard / Hilt Ideal

Blade is laser Stamped: Marble's Gladstone Mich. U.S.A. with the old 3 line roller coaster stamp, scarce indeed plus its a Stag on Stag Ideal !!! 

Blade is 52/100 high carbon ball bearing steel that took several top prizes in the ABS sponsored World Cutting Championships !!! Ideals are 1st recognized by the Huge Fuller on each side. Heavy brass guard and the famous Marble's spacers.

It is handled is Genuine Stag, as is the pommel, Stag on Stag configuration... just exceptional Stag bark with deep lines on both sides as can be seen in pics...Stag slabs are tightly affixed with the 4 pins and you cannot even hardly feel the lines both top and bottom where they meet !!! The Stag pommel is very knarly and a really cool shape !!! With the age old 4 Pin construction to go with the old 3 line roller coaster stamp, Stag on Stag, this Ideal is super collectible and a very scarce knife too run up on !!! ...Built to use a life time, then will it to your grandkids !!! 

Comes to ya New, in original Marbles Bobcat box, never used or carried

Also has the Original Marble's deep oil tanned leather sheath, exceptional quality, stamped in leather and keeper strap button, and a throwback spear point sheath Marble's discontinued at WW2, ya just do not see many Marble's sheaths like this...all this to go with the 4 pin construction and old roller coaster stamp, Wow, it don't get much better !!!
