Mcusta MC-142G SPG2 Core Folding Knife 3.75" Closed Pakkawood Handle With Belt Sheath

Made in Seki, Japan, Mcusta combines modern technology with traditional Japanese craftsmanship to produce hand finished custom quality production knives. This knife measures 3.75" long closed and features a 2.56" SPG2 core blade with Pakkawood handle, with a tip down pocket clip, not reversible. Included is a very well made leather and nylon belt sheath.

SPG2 (SG2) powder steel is a Japanese stainless steel, with a patent filed in 1991. It predates S30V and S35VN, and is a bit below them in toughness. Corrosion resistance is similar to VG-10. Edge retention is higher than VG-10, 440C, and CPM-154, but below S30V and S35VN. Ease of sharpening is similar to VG-10, with SPG2 having more vanadium carbide, which will make it harder to polish the edge.
