Up for sale is an old Case Tested XX that was produced, according the the tang stamps, in the 1932-40 era.  The knife has been used, carried and sharpened and is in GOOD condition.  The spring is good and the knife has plenty of "snap".  The half stop works correctly.  The scales are tight and there are no cracks or chips in the "green bone" scales.  However, a small rivet is missing from one scale adjacent to the bolster on the side of the knife that bears the tang stamp. Also, though the bail appears to be original to the knife, I have seen no other Hawkbill Case knife from this era having a bail (though all Case Tested XX Hawkbills contain a "hole" in the scales to accomodate a bail). Perhaps this is a very rare knife that still has its original bail????
