I Did Not Wipe It Off. Rather Thick Blade 0.146 Inch ( Just Slightly More Than 1/8" Thick). Black Finish Straight From Heat Treatment. Narrow Tang Goes All The Way Through The Wooden Handle And Is Pinned Old Style With A Diamond Shaped Washer. Beautiful Curly Birch Wooden Handle Is Barrel Shaped But Tapered To Give The Knife A Better Grip. Handle Is 4 1/2" Long And Feels Very Comfortable To Me. And I Have Larger Hands. No Chips, Cracks or Looseness. Overall Length Is 8 9/16" Long. Well Made Factory Embossed Leather Sheath With Leather Loop To Hang On The Belt. Carbon Blade Will Rust If Not Maintained Properly.
