Gutmann Cutlery Italian Made Trapper Skinner Early 1950's Factory Edge Mirror Polish Buffalo Horn

Kurt Gutmann was a German born Holocaust survivor who came to the USA and did very well fro himself and his family in the knife business. He went to Europe at the end of WWII and bought up all the Italian surplus cutlery and sold it in his retail store in NYC. This knife dates to the early 50's or possibly before. 9 1/2". 5" edge, sharp top and bottom. Mirror polished blade, never honed. Tang stamped G.C. Co. Trapper Italy and '379' on the reverse. Finger grooves and thumb grooves. Buffalo horn handles held down bt three brass pins. A previous owner marked the back of the spine with a groove. Comes in a hand made leather sheath. Smoke free garage.
