Up for sale is a super rare 1967 Gerber MK2 without the canted blade.  While canted blade models offer a certain "cachet", the non-canted 1967 versions are actually much more rare.  According to my research 2,750 canted knives were produced in 1967, while only 1,250 non-canted knives were produced in that year.

This knife is in amazing original condition.  It shows extremely limited use, and no efforts have been made to restore or polish the blade.  The sheath is in excellent condition...especially given that the sheath is about 57 years old.  I have had the knife for a couple of years and it was going to be my "forever" MK2, but I am letting go of some of my jewels in light of my age.

The only "gotcha" that interested parties should be aware of is that some prior owner decided that he/she wanted a black sheath rather than the original brown sheath.  So, even though this is the correct sheath for the knife and the year of production (see direction of the strap and the 2-line identification embossing), the color is not correct.  I have included a number of photos of the sheath showing the original brown color of the sheath in "hard to reach" places that eluded the dying efforts.

The last two complete, clean 1967 Gerber MK2s that sold on Ebay went for $3,650 and $2,751 with heavy bidding.  Both of these were canted knives.
