A PIECE OF JIM PARKER HISTORY

This is a BEAUTIFUL set of 2 knives from the former American Blade Collector Association. It is from 1986 as is etched on the main blade of the sowbelly knife.

The knife is 4 1/8 inches closed, and 8 ¾ inches long with the 2 longest blades open. The bolster on each knife is engraved with a number L1054. They are part of a limited edition of 3997 knives. The first knife, I think it is called a "sowbelly", has 3 perfectly fitted pieces of pearl and abalone on each side. Two white pearls with a section of Abalone perfectly matched in the middle. It has 4 well-fitted blades, as shown in the pics. The main blade is etched "1986 American Blade Association Limited Edition, 1 of 3997. "Each blade is stamped American Blade (R) Chatt.,TN. Both knives are mint.

I think the 2nd knife is a "one blade trapper" is 4 1/8 inches closed and 8 ¾ open. It has 1 Damascus blade. The blade is tang stamped American Blade (R), Chatt.,TN. The handles on this knife is of 1 piece Pearl and are BEAUTIFUL, changing color as the light hits them in turning.

Both knives fit into fold-over felt lined snap shut case. They have never been used, sharpened, or carried. They are a piece of knife history, I think related to the late James Parker. I don't think this association exists anymore, so it will never be any more made like these.
