Tim Galyean is considered by many to be one of the first truly high-end tactical knife makers and has been making knives since 2004 tracing his start in the industry back to 2001 when he went to work for Kershaw, fulfilling a lifelong love for making knives. Inspired by the designs of his mentor, Ken Onion, Tim worked with him to learn the art of custom knife building and finessing his designs and techniques. To discover any fixed blade knife from Mr. Galyean is very rare and unique.

While Tim is currently retired from knife-making, this knife was acquired from the Ed Holbrook knife collection and is believed to be a gift from Mr. Galyean to Mr. Holbrook who both resided at the same time in Canby Oregon. In 2010 at the age of 71, Mr. Holbrook was awarded the Boy Scouts of Eagle Scout rank that he had earned over 50 years earlier and this knife is believed to have provenance recognizing that achievement. This knife was acquired without a sheath but with the rawhide lanyard shown. This knife measures 8.50” overall with a 4” blade and shows zero signs of use or sharpening.
