ADDITIONAL INFO:      The #896 was a pattern carried over from the Schrade Cut Co days. It was formerly known as 8964K but the pattern was changed to 896K. The K-Horn handles were originally made in celluloid but when the more stable Delrin was introduced Schrade begin using that to the exclusion of celluloid about 1960, or shortly thereafter. I think the K-Horn Delrin was not nearly as popular as the K-Horn celluloid, perhaps because they weren’t as pretty so no one took special care of them or passed them on to their grandkids. The Delrin K-Horn was listed in the Schrade catalogs until 1980 but for some reason they are not too common.
