Folk's, the Ideal Hunting knife was Webster Marble's 1st attempt at knife making, and as it turned out, his most successful. Introduced to the world in 1899, W L Marble had this to say about his design : This knife is the Ideal cross between a sticking and skinning knife.... hand made, hand tested. There is about as much difference between our Ideal Hunting knives and any other knife... as there is between a porcupine & a grizzly bear !!!

This is the Marble's Ideal

This is Marble's 1st knife pattern. Prototyped in 1899 in the 1st versions, and by 1901, this Marble's Ideal pattern took America by storm !!! It was in the cockpit on the 1st trans-atlantic flight, carried by explorers worldwide on expeditions to every corner of the world !!! By the end of its 3rd decade of production, (1930) from Pole To Pole, around the globe, the Marble's Ideal was the hunting knife that by which all others were measured !!!

Knife is 10 3/8" OAL

Blade is 6"

Blade is brushed finish high carbon. Ideals are 1st recognized by the Huge Fuller on each side. Heavy brass guard and the famous Marble's spacers

It is stamped: Marbles W/ the banner Marble's stamp, with the left facing SERIF A, an old 1911-30 trademark in their stamp

It is handled in simply Gorgeous Smooth Stabilized Curly Maple. Pommel is aluminum. A time tested Marble's pattern knife.

Comes to ya New, in original Marbles box, never used or carried

Also has the Marbles oil tanned leather sheath W/ Internal cut guard, a very nice feature. As seen in the pics, the sheath is brand new, never used, but the previous owner set it in some oil and it absorbed into part of the sheath. Maybe one mite oil the rest of the sheath up to make all of it match ?

Please supersize the pics on the next page for a close-up look at one of the most famous pattern fixed blade hunters ever made in American Cut. History !!!
