When you think of todays American knife makers, there are few brands as iconic as Buck. The first Buck knife can be dated back to 1902, when Hoyt Buck was just a blacksmith's apprentice. In 1945, the Buck family officially opened it's own handmade knife shop in San Diego, CA. Hoyt and his son Al produced a new method of steel hardening and they also experimented with the use of synthetic materials for knife handles. In the 1960's, Buck knives exploded onto the market, starting with the 100 series fixed blade knives, which included the timeless 119. Marketed as "Lifetime Knives", they would demonstrate their toughness by taking these knives door to door and hammering the blade through steel bolts. This brutal stress test gave birth to the logo seen on many knives over the years. In 1964, the most recognizeable pocket knife of all time was introduced; the 110 lockback. Buck quickly became a household name thanks to these two knives alone. Every hunter, fisherman, or outdoorsman wanted to get their hands on a Buck knife. They have remained an industry leader for decades. 

The 135 Paklite Caper is an outdoorsman's dream. This knife is ideal for skinning and field dressing. It is extremely lightweight with a minimalist, skeleton frame design that still maintains the durability you would expect from a Buck. It offers plenty of jimping to aid in dexterity, and weighs in at just 1.1 OUNCES! It's solid piece, corrosion resistant 420 HC, construction measures 6.8" overall, with a 2.5" blade length. This knife has never been used, carried or sharpened. It maintains it's factory edge and is near mint with only some minor blemishes and light rub marks on the blade (see pics) as a result of rubbing from the sheath. The Mule Deer Foundation logo can be found on both the nylon sheath, and the blade etch, making this a unique addition to the collection. The 135, along with the rest of the Paklite series, has been discontinued. These knives are going to become harder and more expensive to find. Grab it while you can.
