Camillus Knife Shields

On this page you will find a list of shields used by the Camillus cutlery company.  You will find pictures, dates used & short descriptions of those found here.  Please note that it is not an exhaustive list, there will be many missing.  We will try to work toward a more complete list over time.

Make sure to visit the Camillus section of the AAPK member store when you're finished here to shop for Camillus knives of all kinds.

Camillus Badge Shield - 4-line stamp era

This is a badge style shield used on Camillus brand pocket knives during the company's 4 line tang stamp era. Not certain if the use of this exact badge style was ever reintroduced & used on more recent productions. Note that the shield was pined through to the liner on the 4 line tang stamped knives.

Camillus Badge Bowtie or bow tie Shield - 4-line stamp era

The shield style on this one may be a bit hard to define exactly, but I would call it a propeller or bow tie.  Some might call it a gimp style.  Regardless of semantics, it was used on Camillus brand pocket knives during the company's 4 line tang stamp era.

Camillus Bomb Shield - Sword Brand - 4-line stamp era

This is a bomb style shield used on Camillus brand pocket knives during the company's earlier years. I've seen them on the sword brand knives made between 1941 - 1946. Not certain if the use of this exact bomb style extended beyond that.

Camillus Sword Brand Badge Shield - 1970s

This is a badge style shield with crossing sward stamp used on Camillus' 70s era Sward Brand pocket knives. Used in the 1970s for sure. Not certain if the use extended beyond that.

Camillus Oval Shield

This is an oval style shield stamped with the text "Camillus" used on many of the company's more recently produced pre-bankruptcy delrin handled knives.
