This is a genuine Microtech Socom Elite automatic. This is a factory second purchased directly from the factory website. It is a factory second due to cosmetics, not construction or function. The factory laser etches a grenade on the blade to permanently mark as being a factory second. Construction and function of knife is top notch,  spring is ridiculously strong, and button and lock-up is solid. It's just not polished, or as beautiful as it could be. That's why the factory sells at a discount. I think the advantage of seconds is they make the best EDCs; carry every day and use as needed. This one has never been out of its box since I got it directly from the factory. Also note how the label on the box is also marked with a grenade. Lower 48 shipping only
