The one and only Winchester Repeating Arms Company teamed up with Simmons Hardware to open up a line of their own hardware stores, which operated from about 1918 to 1930. These stores offered a whole catalog of tools, hardware and other goods. You could swing by the Winchester store to pick up a hammer, a flashlight, or even a pair of roller skates! Despite producing high quality products for over a decade, the endeavor wasn't as successful as they had hoped. And although the Winchester brand survived, the Great Depression forced them to abandon the Winchester Store operation.
