Beautiful Keith Moorby STUD Mother Of Pearl Folding Knife, Sheffield England

Beautiful Keith Moorby STUD Mother Of Pearl Folding Knife, Sheffield England. Here's an amazing exhibition style folder from one of the later English Master knife makers. It has Mother of Pearl Scales, file work on the back spine, the back of the blade and jeweled brass liners. It is marked with a picture of a horse and STUD on front tang, 017 STAINLESS STEEL on the back tang. There are initials inside the handle that read SS-80.

I did a lot of research on this knife. The model is a design of Graham Clayton. Keith Moorby was a contemporary of Graham and Stan Shaw and was also known for making amazing knives. The SS-80 mark inside the handle is a little confusing. Stan Shaw marked some of his knives this way. I was able to talk to a collector in Englad who has contact with current Sheffield knife makers. I believe the SS-80 might refer to "a chap called Stan Silverwood" with 80 being the year it was made.

WANT LIST: I do my best to maintain an inventory of interesting and unique knives. I'm always looking for single pieces and collections. My current switchblade focus includes Miniature & Keychain, Vintage Imports from Europe (Spain, France, Italy, etc.) & Asia (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, etc.), RPK's, Bullfighters, older Microtechs & Daltons and some other American Switchblades. I also like interesting miniature knives and arms, 1980's Import Balisongs, Coutel, Digby's (Graham Clayton) and older Great Eastern Cutlery folders.

ABOUT: I've been into knives since I was a kid. I always seemed to have a small accumulation of them in my dresser drawer for example. I started carrying one regularly in 1991 when I was in the US Army stationed in Panama. My knife collecting days started around 2010 and in 2021 I decided to become a dealer.

I'm still a collector so I understand the fun and excitement of finding a new treasure. Because of that I always do my best to give accurate information about my knives and their condition. I take lots of pictures and offer video's for all the switchblades and some of the other knives I sell. I research sales prices and other available information and have a great network of dealers and collectors to draw from. All that said, I still make mistakes so please let me know if something I say is innacurate or misleading.
