Western Cutlery made knives for the Boy Scouts from 1948 to 1979 ("Western States" from 48-51). This is a BSA1378 model "sheath knife" based on the Western L66 fixed blade knife.

OAL: 8.75"

Blade: 4.5" high carbon, clip

Handle: Stacked leather; Aluminum pommel; Exposed, bifurcated, full tang; Brass pins; Brass half guard

This knife shows obvious signs of some use and wear with a light patina and some light rust on the exposed tang. It has a clearly visible BSA "Be Prepared" shield stamp above "Official Boy Scouts of America" tang stamp on the mark side. The pile side tang stamp reads "Western Boulder Colo. Made in USA" Everything is nice and solid. Nothing loose or rattling. This knife does not have a sheath.
