Shikaree seems to be the Roman name of the company in Japan that Hoffritz used in the 1970's to make thjis knife. There were several sizes, this being the largest at 3 3/4" closed. One of the last prijects Edwin had made, he passed in 1973 (1895-1973). Full mirror polish, large brass bolsters and pins that hold dowen the wood. But the locking mechanism is the cool part. One opens the blade, it locks. Then the steel bar at the top of the left bolster is pushed up and the blade folds. A real sock drawer knife that has seen little use and slight honing. The black leather heavy duty sheath seems made for the knife which fits only one way, blade to the left. Down the center arte the cryptic letters: SNAKE. This might alude to a current or past menber of the US Special Forces (snake eaters). A coiled serpent appears just above the tab button. Anyway, a veryu cool folder. Smoke free.
