Unsigned, handmade, double-edged, fixed-blade knife
Thank you for your interest in this knife. It needs some TLC; however, it could make someone a nice knife. It is handmade, but not marked with a maker’s name. While it is part of my dad’s (Jay Bigler’s) collection, it is unlike so many of his knives, and yet it does have a familiar look to it similar to the “experimental” shapes he worked on early on when learning his craft. I know of another knife which was part of his collection with a blade like this one; it also was not signed. This knife could be something that Dad made, but I cannot say that with certainty. That being said, the blade has some corrosion on it, and it looks like it has been blued. The handle has three kinds of wood... the outside light and dark stripes and a reddish wood that was used as a "spacer". It is 6.5" long with a 3"double-edged blade.
