This is a Vintage Early SCHRADE CUT. CO. WALDEN NY 1-Blade Melon Tester Folding Pocket Knife.  The knife has a single 3 7/8” long long spear point blade with a common nail pull.  The blade has been used but is still close to 100% full.  Both blade faces have quite a few scratches from use but are otherwise clean on both sides. The blade still has a very good “thump” on both open and close. Stamped on the front tang is SCHRADE (over) CUT. CO. (over) WALDEN N.Y.  Stamped on the rear tang is SS which stands for stainless steel. The scales are a light yellow solid composition. Quite a few scratches but there are no cracks, splits or missing chips.  There are two (2) nickel silver handle pins in each scale with one large nickel silver birdseye rivet on the pivot ends. The liners are brightly polished brass. The knife has a single steel back spring free of any cracks or breaks and it continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. This Vintage Early Schrade Cut. Co. 1-Blade Melon Tester Pocket Knife is 4 11/16” in length and made in Walden, New York between c.1917-1946.  Additional photos or information on request.
