This is a ***RARE*** Vintage Antique Very Early H. BOKER’S IMPROVED CUTLERY 2-Blade Equal End Pen Folding Pocket Knife with a Carbon Steel Spear Point Main Blade with a Long Nail Pull,  a Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Long Nail Pull, a Beautiful Set of File Worked Genuine Mother-of-Pearl Scales in Perfect Condition with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, Two (2) Nickel Silver End Pins and One (1) Brass Center Pin in Each Scale, Brightly Polished Nickel Silver Rounded Bolsters with with a Recessed Interior and Great File Work, Brightly Polished Brass Liners, One (1) Steel Back Spring with No Cracks or Breaks, 2 1/2” in Length, Made in Germany by H. Boker Solingen Between c.1860-1880’s. 

This is a Very Early Vintage Antique H. BOKER’S IMPROVED CUTLERY Solingen 2-Blade Equal End Pen Folding Pocket Knife made between c.1860 and the 1880’s. Someone or someone’s have kept this knife in very good condition over the last 136-161 years since it left the factory in Germany. The knife has a carbon steel spear point main blade with a longnail pull. The front face does have a Fe clusters of very light micro-pitting. The rear face has some scattered very hard to see very light micro-pitting. The blade still looks close to or at 100% full to me. The front tang is stamped H BOKER’S (over) IMPROVED (over) CUTLERY. This stamp, without the & Cos’s, indicates this knife was made in between c.1860-1880’s. I’ve only ever seen one other knife with this stamp but it was not in near this good of condition nor with this file work. Stamped on the rear tang is the Boker Tree logo that was being used in that era. On the other end of the frame is a carbon steel pen secondary blade with a long nail pull. The front face has about three light stains and the rear face is pretty much clean. It also looks to be full. Stamped on the front tang is H BOKER’S (over) IMPROVED (over) CUTLERY. Stamped on the rear tang is Boker Tree logo that was being used in that era. Both blades still have very good to excellent open and close snap or “thump” and both have very good half-stops. This knife has a beautiful set of genuine Mother-of-Pearl scales. They are meticulously file worked along the top and bottom edges and the interior portion is recessed. They’re in excellent plus condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. There are two (2) nickel silver end pins in each scale along with a brass center pin on each scale. The knife has an intricate set if brightly polished nickel silver rounded bolsters they are perfectly matched to the scales with the same intricate file work along all the outside edges  They also have the same recessed interiors perfectly matched to the scales. The liners are brightly polished brass.  The knife has one (1) steel back spring which is free of any cracks or breaks and still performs the functions it was designed to perform. This Lightly Used, at most, Vintage and Antique, Very Early and ***RARE*** H BOKER’S IMPROVED CUTLERY 2-blade Equal End Pen Folding Pocket Knife with beautifully file worked Mother-of-Pearl scales and bolsters was made at Henry Boker Baumworks located in Solingen, Germany between c.1860-1880’s.
