Located in Solingen, Germany and Made Between c.1869-1944 and Came Off a Salesman’s Sample Board from the Offices of the Boker Baumwerks.

This rare knife came off a salesman’s sample board taken by Ernst Felix, the former president of Boker, when he left the company. Several of those boards of mint knives were acquired by Smokey Mountain Knife Works in the 1980’s. This knife has only recently been cut away from one of those boards. This knife was made in the Boker factory in Germany between c.1869-1944. The knife has an unused and unsharpened carbon steel spear point main blade with a common nail pull. It still has its original factory finish and its original factory edge. Stamped on the front tang is H BOKER & CO (over) SOLINGEN. Stamped on the rear tang is the Boker Tree Brand tree logo for that era. On the other end of the frame is an unused and unsharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull. It still has its original factory finish and its original factory edge. Stamped on the front tang is H BOKER & CO (over) SOLINGEN. Stamped on the rear tang is the Boker Tree Brand tree logo of the era. The spear blade has an excellent hard open and close snap. The pen blade has an excellent hard snap on open, close and the half-stop. The scales are a great looking set of brown jigged bone stag. The front scale is lighter than the reverse scale from being exposed to the light all those decades while attached to the board. They’re in excellent plus condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. There are three (3) brightly polished brass handle pins in each scale. The rounded bolsters are brightly polished German Silver The liners are brightly polished brass. The knife has a single polished steel back spring which is free of any cracks or breaks and continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. The stamping on this knife was used by the Boker Germany factory between c.1869-1944. It comes right off a salesman’s sample board from the H Boker Baumwerks offices in Solingen, Germany.
