BOKER’S IMPROVED CUTLERY 4-Blade Equal End Shadow Pen Folding Pocket Knife with a Carbon Steel Spear Point Main Blade with a Long Nail Pull, a Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Long Nail Pull, another Carbon Steel Pen Tertiary Blade with a Long Nail Pull, a Carbon Steel Dual Sided Nail File, or Manicure Blade, a Great Set of Jigged StagScales in Great Condition with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, Three (3) Brass Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished Brass Milled Liners, 2 Polished Steel Back Springs with No Cracks or Breaks, 3 1/8” in Length, Made in Solingen, Germany by H. Boker & Co’s Cutlery Between c.1860-1880’s.

This is an Excellent Antique ***RARE*** H. BOKER’S IMPROVED CUTLERY 4-Blade Equal End Shadow Pen Folding Pocket Knife. This stamp was one of the second earliest stampings used by the Boker company in Solingen Germany. It was made between 1860 and the 1880’s making this knife between 132-161 years old and it’s still in excellent condition. All four blades still have much of their original factory finishes. The knife has a carbon steel narrow spear point main blade with a long nail pull. The front face is clean other than a few very hard to see horizontal scratches from cleaning. The rear face has four very small clusters of very light micro-pitting. Stamped on the rear tang is H. BOKER’S (no & CO’S)(over) IMPROVED (over) CUTLERY. Stamped on the rear tang is the Boker Tree Brand tree logo for that era. Next to the spear point blade main is a carbon steel pen secondary blade with a long nail pull. Both faces are generally clean with no more than a speck or two on either face. Stamped on the front tang is H. BOKER’S (no & CO’S)(over) IMPROVED (over) CUTLERY. Stamped on the rear tang is the Boker Tree Brand tree logo for that era. On the other end of the frame is the second carbon steel pen tertiary blade with a long nail pull. Both faces have no more than a few scattered very light micro-pits and a light stain or two. Stamped on the front tang is H. BOKER’S (no & CO’S)(over) IMPROVED (over) CUTLERY. Stamped on the rear tang is the Boker Tree Brand tree logo used in that era.  The final blade is a carbon steel dual-sided nail file, or manicure, blade with a long nail pull. Each side has a standard vertical ridge and valley type file blade. The top portion of the blade is the fingernail cleaner and the front face has just a stain or two. Stamped on the rear tang is H. BOKER’S (no & CO’S)(over) IMPROVED (over) CUTLERY. Stamped on the rear tang is the Boker Tree Brand tree logo for that era.  All four blades have excellent to very hard and loud snap on open and close and hard half-stops. This knife has a good looking set of light brown jigged stag scales. They’re in excellent plus condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. There are two shallow easy opens on the top of each scale to allow easier access to each blade's nail pull. The knife has three (3) polished brass handle pins in each scale. There’s a brightly polished nickel silver narrow bar shield centered on the front scale. The knife has two steel back springs with one having a small cluster of staining. They’re both free of any cracks or breaks and both continue to perform the functions they were designed to perform. This Antique ***RARE***  H. Boker’s Improved Cutlery 4-Blade Equal End Shadow Pen Folding Pocket Knife was made in the Boker factory located in Solingen, Germany between 1860-1880’s. It’s still in excellent condition and is between 131 and 162 years old. The knife is 3 1/8” in length. Additional photos or information on request.
