This is a Near Mint to Mint Vintage H. Boker and Co Solingen **Salesman’s Sample** 2-Blade Equal End Shadow Pen Folding Pocket Knife. This one came from a Salesman’s Sample board out of the Heinrich Boker Baumwerks in Solingen, Germany by Ernst Felix, a former president of the company, who took the boards with him when he left the company. This great looking knife is unused and unsharpened and in the same near mint to mint condition it was in when it left the Boker factory floor way back when. The knife has an unused and unsharpened stainless steel spear point main blade with a common nail pull. Both faces still retain their original factory mirror polish and their original factory edge. There are just a couple of specks above the nail pull. The front face has a very legible salesman’s knife code of 332 printed by hand in black ink on the front face though it looks red in the photo. Still there and very visible. Stamped on the front tang is H. BOKER & CO (over) SOLINGEN. Stamped on the rear tang is the Boker Tree Brand Tree logo from that era and ROSTFREI, which is German for stainless. On the other end of the frame is an unused and unsharpened stainless steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull. It still maintains its original factory mirror polish and its original factory edge and just a few blade rubs on the rear face. Stamped on the front tang is H. BOKER & CO (over) SOLINGEN. Stamped on the rear tang is the Boker Tree Brand Tree logo of the era and ROSTFREI to its left which is German for stainless steel. Both blades still have excellent, hard and loud open and close snap. This knife has an excellent set of milled or embossed stainless steel handles which also serve as the liners. Both scales are identical with horizontal chain link like vertical lines and three plain wider vertical lines. They’re in perfect shape with no dent, dings or scratches. The knife has a single brightly polished steel back spring which is free of any cracks or breaks and continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. This Near Mint to Mint & RARE Vintage H. Boker & Co Solingen Salesman’s Sample 2-blade Equal End Shadow Pen Folding Pocket Knife with really nice milled stainless steel covers and came from a salesman’s sample board out of the offices of the Heinrich Boker Baumwerks factory in Solingen, Germany and is 2 11/16” in length. The stamping was used by the German Boker factory between c.1869-1944 but this knife was most likely made between c.1914-1931. Additional photos or information on request.
