This is an Early Antique Vintage CASE TESTED XX 2-Blade Serpentine Pen Folding Pocket Knife with a Carbon Steel Spear Point Main Blade with Common Nail Pull, a Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Great Set of Goldstone Celluloid Scales in Excellent Condition with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, Three Brass Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished Nickel Silver Squared Bolsters, Brightly Polished Brass Liners, a Single Steel Back Spring with No Cracks or Breaks, 2 5/8” in Length, Made by W.R. Case & Sons in Bradford, Pennsylvania pre-1920.

This knife is a mystery to me. It’s not in overall great shape but it is an intriguing example with that JCC stamp. Looks like an early GS233 but it’s not because they had a long pull clip main blade. This one has a stainless steel spear blade with a common nail pull and a stainless steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull. Both of these stainless steel blades have been well used and sharpened. The spear blade, I think, is stamped on the front tang with CASE (over) XX (over) TESTED all inside sn oval. This stamp was used up until 1920. On the other Blade the front tang is stamped with JCC.  JCC huh.  For Jean Case possibly. I don’t know but I don’t know what else it could stand for. On the back tang it’s stamped STAINLESS. The more used of the two blades is quiet on open but has a good snap on close. The other blade is quiet on both open and close. The knife has a beautiful set of Goldstone celluloid scales and they’re in excellent condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. Plus they still retain the same sparkle as when they were new. There are three (3) brass handle pins in each scale. The knife has nickel silver squared bolsters but they have quite a few scratches and dings. The liners are brightly polished brass as well. It has a single steel back spring and it’s free of any cracks or breaks and continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. This nice old vintage and antique W.R. Case & Sons 2-Blade Serpentine Pen Folding Pocket Knife is in very used condition and is 2 5/8” in length. Made pre-1920 the best I can tell in Bradford, Pennsylvania.
