This is a Extremely Nice Example of a Vintage or Antique E K TRYON CO PHILADELPHIA 2-Blade Serpentine Dogleg Pen Folding Pocket Knife with a Lightly or Barely Used and Unsharpened Carbon Steel Long Spear Point Main Blade with a Common Nail Pull and Stamped on the Front Face with TRYON Horizontally and T 212 Vertically, a Lightly or Even Barely Touched Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Very Nice Set of Rough Black Composition Scales with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, with a Brightly Polished Crest Shaped Shield on the Front Scale, (3) Nickel Silver Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished Nickel Silver Bolsters, Brightly Polished Brass Liners, a Single Steel Back Spring with No Breaks or Cracks, 3” in Length, Made by Edward K Tryon of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania between c.1811 and c.1952. 

This is a Vintage or Antique Edw K Tryon Philadelphia 2-Blade Serpentine Dogleg Pen Folding Pocket Knife in excellent shape. The knife has a barely used and unsharpened carbon steel long spear point blade with a common nail pull.  Both blade faces are pretty clean with a little cloudiness from polishing paste.  Most of the light scratching is from an earlier attempt to polish the blades and used a rag a bit too gritty.  It is still legibly stamped on the front face horizontally with TRYON and vertically with T-212. Stamped on the front tang is EK TRYON CO (over) PHILADELPHIA.  It also has a lightly used or barely touched and unsharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull. It does show some blade scuffs and light liner marks but it too has the same horizontal light polishing marks from use on both faces. The spear blade has a very good snap on open but just a very light "thump" on close and a hard half-stop. I still working on that close but may have ti take an air hose to the joint. The pen blade has a good snap on open and a light “thump” on close but it does have a hard half-stop. The scales on this knife are a nice looking set of rough black composition in excellent plus condition. They’re free of any cracks, splits or missing chips. There are three (3) nickel silver handle pins in each scale. The knife has brightly polished nickel silver rounded bolsters. The liners are brightly polished brass. The knife has a single steel back spring and its free of any breaks or cracks and continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. This is a nice hard to find and uncommon Vintage Edward K Tryon Co of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 2-blade serpentine dogleg pen and is 3” in length and made between 1811 and c.1952.
