This is a very nice example of a very old W.R. Case & Sobs 2-Blade Serpentine Pen Folding Pocket Knife with a great set of Goldstone celluloid scales. It would be hard to lose this special 101-116 year old knife.    Someone or multiple someone’s have taken very good care of this knife over the years. The knife has an unused and unsharpened carbon steel clip point main blade with a long nail pull.  Both faces still retain most of their original factory mirror polish and it’s original factory edge. It does a a few minor liner scuffs.  It has just a bit of hazing from being polished. Stamped on the front tang is CASE (BRADFORD (over) PA. This stamp was used only up to c.1920.  Stamped on the rear tang with the knife code of GS233. The GS indicates the scales are Goldstone celluloid. The 2 indicates a two bladed knife and the 33 is the pattern number which in this case means it’s a pen knife. On the other end of the frame is an unused and unsharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull. This blade was never used either. It also retains most of its original factory mirror polish and it’s original factory edge.  It also has a few very minor blade or liner scuffs. Stamped on the front tang is an oval and within it is stamped CASE (over) XX (over) TESTED.  This stamp was used by case between c.1914-1920.  Both blades still have excellent and loud open and close snap and The clip blade only has a good half-stop. The knife has a beautiful set of Goldstone celluloid scales and they’re in excellent plus condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips.  Plus they still retain the same sparkle as when they were new. There are three (3) brass handle pins in each scale. The knife has brightly polished nickel silver squared bolsters. The liners are brightly polished brass as well.  It has a single brightly polished steel back spring and it’s free of any cracks or breaks and continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. This nice old vintage and antique W.R. Case & Sons 2-Blade Serpentine Pen Folding Pocket Knife is in excellent unused condition and is 2 5/8” in length.  Made between c.1914-1920 in Bradford, Pennsylvania.
