This is a Vintage H BOKER & CO’S IMPROVED CUTLERY 2-Blade Jumbo Double End Sleeveboard Jack Folding Pocket Knife with a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Spear Point Main Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Set of Black Ebony Wood Scales with a Single VeryTight End Pin Crack on the Rear Scale, a Polished German Silver Crest Style Shield Inlaid on the Front Scale, Three Brass Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished German Silver Rounded Bolsters, Brightly Polished Brass Liners, a Single Steel Back Spring with No Cracks or Breaks, 3 1/2” in Length, Made by the H Boker & Co Between c.1869-1910 if Made in Solingen, Germany or Between c.1899-1920’s if Made in the Boker Factory in Newark, N.J. As This was the Only Stamp Used by Both the German and U.S. factories. 

This is a Vintage H. Boker & Co’s Improved Cutlery Double End Sleeveboard Jumbo Jack folding pocket knife. The knife has a used and sharpened carbon steel spear point main blade with a common nail pull.  The front face has scratches from use and sharpening and some scattered clusters of light pitting and staining. The rear face is much cleaner with scratches from use and sharpening and some light pitting mainly just below the swedge. Stamped on the front tang is H. BOKER & CO’S (over) IMPROVED (over) CUTLERY. Stamped on the rear tang is the Boker Cutlery tree logo used in that era. The secondary blade is a used and sharpened carbon steel pen blade with a common nail pull. It has a few scattered cluster of light pitting. The rear face has only a few specks. Stamped on the front tang is H. BOKER & CO’S (over) IMPROVED (over) CUTLERY. Stamped on the rear tang is the Boker Cutlery tree logo used in that era. Both blades still have excellent open and close snap and the pen blade has a hard half-stop. The knife has a set of black Ebony wood scales. There’s a very tight end pin crack on the rear scale on the large pivot end. There is a German Silver crest shaped style shield inlaid in the front scale. It has three brass handle pins in each scale and brightly polished brass liners. The rounded bolsters are brightly polished German Silver and are free of any dents or dings. The knife has a single steel back spring and it’s free of any cracks or breaks. The back spring continues to perform its designed functions. There is gap between the bottom liner and the back spring on the pile side of the knife. It looks sort of like the center pin is too long. This vintage and/or antique Rare H Boker & Co’s Improved Cutlery Jumbo Double End Sleeveboard Jack folding pocket knife is 3 1/2” in length. This us the only Boker stamp that was used in both the German factory in Solingen, Germany and the Newark, N.J. factory in the U.S.  if it was made in Germany then it was made between c.1869-1910. If made in the U.S. then it was made between 1899-1920’s. Additional photos or information on request.
