Fruit Knife Dated 1844 Stirling Sliver Blade Mother Of Pearl Handles Crown Bolster Walks & Talks
A fruit knife made in England and dated 1844 according to the hallmarks on the sterling silvwer blade. 3 1/4" closed, the handles are mother of pearl, picked out with double lines on either side and held down with three sterling silver pins, The long bar shield is also pinned. The frame is sterling and the entire back spring is layered with sterling silver and gadrooned in a mixed line/waffle pattern. The long pul blade has a 1/2 stop, tight with great snap in either direction. The front bloster is also sterling and is done in a crown shape. A knife like this one was made by a 'Mester' totally by hand who made each and every part. Uncommon in this condition. I will gladly take your checkor money order.
