BOKER & CO’S IMPROVED CUTLERY 3-Blade Splitback Whittler Folding Pocket Knife with a Barely Touch and Unsharpened Carbon Steel Narrow Spear Point Main Blade with a Long Nail Pull and its Original Factory Edge, a Barely, if Ever, Used and Unsharpened Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Long Nail Pull and its Original Factory Edge, a Barely Touched and Unsharpened Carbon Steel Pen Tertiary Blade with a Long Nail Pull and it’s Original Factory Edge, a Great Looking Set of Excellent Plus Genuine Mother-of-Pearl Scales in Perfect Condition with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, Three (3) Brass Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished Nickel Silver Rounded Bolsters with No Dents or Dings, Brightly Polished Brass Liners, Two (2) Polished Steel Back Springs in a Split Back Spring Configuration, with No Cracks or Breaks, 2 5/8” in Length, Made in Solingen, Germany by H. Boker & Co’s Between c.1869-1910. This knife is a survivor. It’s a 111-152 year old knife that has managed to stay in this good of condition. It looks to have been clean and re-polished but So I guess it could have been used but I’m having a hard time seeing signs that it has. This is a hard to find Vintage & Antique H. Boker & Co’s Improved Cutlery 3-blade Splitback Whittler Folding Pocket Knife in excellent condition. This knife was made in the Boker factory in Germany and is one of the earliest examples being made between c.1869-1910. The knife has a barely touched carbon steel narrow spear point main blade with a long nail pull. It’s got just a bit of micro-pitting on the front face and a bit down by the tang on the rear face. I believe the blade has been cleaned, as are the other two, making it nearly impossible to tell if it’s been used but certainly appears unsharpened. Stamped on the front tang is H. BOKER (over) & CO’S (over) IMPROVED (over) CUTLERY. This stamp was used in Germany between c.1869-1910. Stamped on the rear tang is the Boker Tree Logo of the period. On the other end of the knife are two (3) seemingly unused and unsharpened carbon steel pen secondary and tertiary blades both with long nail pulls. Both blades have a little scattered light micro-pitting. Stamped on the rear tang of the front pen blade and the front tang of the rear pen blade is BOKER’S (over) CUTLERY (over) GERMANY. Stamped on the front tang of the front pen blade and the rear tang of the rear pen blade is the Boker Tree logo of that era. is the Boker Tree Logo. All three blades have excellent snap on open and close and the two pen blades both have hard half-stops. The knife has an excellent plus set of genuine Mother-of-Pearl scales in perfect condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. There are three brass handle pins in each scale. The knife has brightly polished nickel silver rounded bolsters with no dents or dings. The knife has brightly polished brass liners and two polished steel back springs. The back springs are in a split back spring configuration. This allows each pen blade to ride on their own spring while the wider spear blade rides on both springs. Both back springs are free of any cracks or breaks and both continue to perform the functions they were designed to perform. This vintage and antique H.
